The members of the Woodsmoke Brigade enjoy helping Scouts and Scout leaders experience what life was like in the fur trade era, between the years of 1825-1840. Woodsmoke Rendezvous provides a wealth of learning opportunities for those interested in the "old ways" - cooking in Dutch ovens over open fires, starting fire with a flint and steel, or teaming up to use a crosscut saw. We hope that the "kittens" of today will apply what they learn at Woodsmoke to become more self-reliant and willing to share their knowledge with others.
