Medallion for Woodsmoke XLII

The medallion for Woodsmoke 42 is a representation of a trade silver cross. Gifts of silver jewelry were frequently used by fur traders to show goodwill to chiefs of tribes with whom they desired to trade. Craftsmen either melted down coins or hammered them into thin sheets before forming them into items like the cross shown below. The “HB” on this cross indicates that it originated with the famed Hudson Bay company.

  1. Sorry I had to miss today. Was not fit to be around other humans. Won’t make church. Too risky. Hoping for Monday. Hope y’all had enough help to accomplish what you wanted to.
